Wounded warriors hit the powder…

February 11, 2007

Another great program provided by the Wounded Warriors Project.  The the 9th of February, the Adaptive Sports Center and Crested Butte Mountain Resort accepted ten disabled veterans.  These veterans are currently undergoing rehabilitation at Brooke Army Medical Center in San Antonio, Texas.

Thirty-five-year-old Army Sergeant Steve Bosson grew up skiing at Sugarbush Resort in Vermont. The Crested Butte trip offered a chance to get used to skiing with a prosthetic leg – something that proved to be less difficult than he imagined. “It was easy,” he says of the adjustment. And getting on skis again was a confidence booster. “If I can do this,” he says, ”I can do anything else.”

So far this isn’t being covered in great detail.  I’ll make sure to update this article as soon as I can get more information.

I can’t wait to read more. Didn’t they do something like this a year or so ago as well? I think it’s awesome that they’ve giving our Wounded Warriors this opportunity.

Got something to say?
